Young Citizens Work Experience Festival
Young Citizens Assemble!

That’s right. After enormous success last year, we’re back, running our second Young Citizens Work Experience Festival, where we hope to see over 400 Year 10 students from the North East come over the threshold this summer.

When and where, we hear you ask!

The event will run alongside the main Innovation Festival which takes place at Newcastle Racecourse from 7 - 10 July.

We want our young citizens to be inspired, get hands on, learn and develop valuable skills you do not learn in school and expand their career knowledge within the water sector and a variety of other industries as future places of work.

This will be an in person event running over two days this year. You can choose which two days suit your school. Students will engage in workshops; tackle real world challenges, contribute their fresh perspectives to critical issues as well as having an opportunity to meet and network with industry professionals.

But that’s not all . . .

We also want to bring in our main festival theme this year:

So we’ll be looking at green jobs for the future, learning and educating students on the positive process of renewal, restoration and growth and how we can all make an impact to lower our carbon footprint on the planet and lead more environmentally net positive lives.

Students will be inspired and motivated, hearing bitesize career stories from industry professionals, as well as talks from special celebrity guests covering their own unique career journeys.
