Radio Data Networks, specialise in the application of wireless technology to provide telemetry links between water and wastewater assets for Northumbrian Water and its Subsidiary Essex & Suffolk Water, to improve control, reduce pollution, reduce sewer flooding  and to prevent the operation of CSO overflows, the largest source of plastics entering the aquatic environment.

Working with the Northumbrian Water team, RDN have devised a unique application for their CSO flow monitoring sensor the FDT. In this application the FDT works in reverse where the absence of flow raises an alarm to creates an inhibit as the lack of flow is indicative of a failed or burst rising main.
