Welcome Young Citizens!
For the first time ever, we are launching a brand new and exciting event – aimed specifically at Year 10 & 11 students.
When and where, we hear you ask!
This event will run alongside our Innovation Festival at Newcastle Racecourse and also online from 8th – 12th July.
This will be a hybrid event, spanning a working week Monday to Friday, offering both online and in person activities so no one misses out. We want our young citizens to be inspired, get hands on, learn and develop valuable work-based skills and expand their career knowledge within the water sector and other STEM based industries as future places of work.
Students will engage in workshops; tackle real world challenges, contribute their fresh perspectives to critical issues as well as having an opportunity to journal their experience and begin crafting their own CVs.
But that’s not all . . .
We want to focus on developing key universal skills like Teamwork, Creativity, Communication, Critical Thinking, Leadership and Positivity. This will give our young citizens a great foundation to move forward in any career.
Students will be inspired and motivated, hearing bitesize career stories from industry professionals each day, as well as talks from special guests covering their own unique career journeys.
