How can we better support our communities in reporting flooding and becoming better prepared?

This sprint is taking place at Newcastle Racecourse 10 - 13 July

It is estimated that flooding currently causes £740 million of damage each year in the UK and by 2050 that is forecasted to rise to £5 billion.

Currently our communities ability to differentiate and/or isolate the cause of flooding is not evident and that recognising the type of flooding experienced and reporting to the appropriate flood authority is challenging.

The current systems in place are not fit for purpose so this sprint aims to create a single point reporting system for all types of flooding and water problems.  Help is needed to collect and manage the data needed to better inform of hotspots leading to better business cases for future capital project investment.
